Vidalia did a good job with Sour Cream at least, and that was all her.

Was anybody else really wishing Mr. Frowney was Alan Rickman? I kept getting a Marvin vibe from him and it made me sad.

But in Hit the Diamond where she was on her own, she still saw a different possible outcome. I think it's still the "multiple paths" theory and the slot machine view was more for aesthetic here.

Had an air of "The Guru" from TLA I felt in the beginning, which was nice for the purpose of digging a little deeper into Stevonnie's psyche in a way only Garnet could.

Korra I'm not sure can count because Nickelodeon nearly cancelled it and was just mishandled from the start. But at least they're respecting the TMNT brand more than CN with Teen Titans.

It recieved critical acclaim, it just didn't have the ratings. I kind of get it because it was when they were reaching for a teen demo that it didn't otherwise court and the animation style wasn't the typical brightly colored, smooth rounded imagery its other shows had (put Zim next to Rugrats and Spongebob, its a

Pete & Pete had a great nostalgia tinge to it that hit with adults, I thought. Laid back but still very fun.

Harvey Beaks and Loud House are getting some praise, with some saying its the start of Nickelodeon's comeback after about a decade of inferiority (Cartoon Network has been miles ahead in terms of quality lately).

Looking back on the original Blue's Clues 20 years later, its kind of hilarious to see how campy that show is. Burns basically did everything in front of a green screen that was probably only about 6 feet across, and if you look hard enough, you see where it falls apart (like how he's clearly just walking in place

Smoky Quartz was just so fun in this episode. You had the required moment of awkwardness with any completely new fusion and the lingering "two minds in one body" issue, but it was great to see how quickly that was resolved and she became her own character in thought and deed, almost Sardonyx like in terms of

Homeworld is not libertarian. It is a feudal militaristic class society where Gems are ranked based loosely on the Mohs Scale of hardness (where Diamonds are the hardest, and here, the top of the ladder).

Ronaldo is definitely supposed to be the Dib of this show, but it doesn't work as well because the Gems don't attempt to hide who they are and everybody just seems to accept the weirdness.

I've found the Dib fanfic on an old forum page. Sugar talks about how she wants to grow up and marry Jhonen Vasquez, its so precious and geeky at the same time. And really messed up — in a good way.

Also she not only bubbled Bismuth, she kept her in Lion's mane away from the other bubbled Gems. Really seems like it was a way of making it look like Bismuth was killed in action given that's what the others thought happened to her.

Its a great moral ambiguity play from this show, almost Korra-like in its grey areas. Bismuth isn't a full villian, but is so bent on defeating Homeworld she feels the need to do so at whatever cost, especially when they fight dirty (so is there a Gem code of military conduct where shattering in combat is taboo? It

Oh yeah, you definitely give your friends hell when they change, especially when for a while it cracks at the most inopportune times so you struggle to keep a consistent pitch. It can be a little self conscious at times, but when everybody deals with it it isn't that bad.

Wait i thought they did all the voice recordings in group sessions?

and splitting it up into 3 acts rather than 2 with the ad breaks made it feel like a good long story rather than just a conventional two-parter.

are you saying she has a twin voiced by JK Simmons?

An amazingly well made episode. Easily the best of the Nuke. Bismuth was a ball of fun from start to finish, largely thanks to Aduba's voice acting. It was tense towards the end as well with a very well done, and serious for a change, combat scene where you genuinely felt like the worst could happen at any moment.
