I know of a ‘98 Taurus with nearly 400k miles. One replaced transmission is the only major repair. Parents bought it new in ‘98 and it’s still plugging along under the care of a neighbor. It looks like hell now, but it hasn’t failed since the original tranny gave out early in 2001.

No salt here in northern Texas. I see late 90's and early 2000s cars everywhere. Some horribly abused, some in fantastic shape. I legit saw a Plymouth Breeze yesterday that looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor.

Ford used to put the best diesel God ever graced this Earth with inside their trucks. It was a beast known as the 7.3L Powerstroke. It was an International Harvester, but friggin legendary. They should have stuck with it.
