at least she came out of this ok and it was accidental, and not another one of those shitweasel parents like Richard Heene who just sees his kids as a way to make money.

it’s also why a 400 lb, 600cc motorcycle gets worse gas mileage than a 2,000 lb, 1000cc Geo Metro. Drag is a killer.

yeah, that could easily have gone Tango Uniform.

if you can’t get real halloumi, this crisps up nicely as well

The only reason I think I want this car is that I can’t buy one. If they actually brought it to the US, I wouldn’t care about it at all.

whether a joke is funny is on the teller, not the listener.  Only a shitty comedian blames his audience for his shitty, unfunny jokes.

that don’t sound right.  given the smoke it keeps puffing out and its rough exhaust note, I’d wager it’s got one or more cylinders not firing reliably.  just doesn’t have that V12 sound.

Yes, I’ve lived here for 40+ years so I’m pretty sure I can tell the difference between a mayfly and a midge. There’s no midge which looks like this:

isn’t that what they’re made of?

I personally do not want a medium rare burger from McDonald’s.

does anyone else get irritated when someone condescendingly says “travel more?”  That shit costs money.

it’s like lunchmeats and sausages proudly stating “No nitrates!” but if you look, the ingredients include celery juice or celery powder which contains...

I don’t think that’s universally done. I’ve seen vehicles with the white film, plenty w/o it, and some just with pieces applied on certain panels.

The funny thing was GM and Ford had the same problems.  They treated their European & South American operations as completely separate entities, with completely different architectures and engines for the same size cars.  Occasionally they’d do something “global” like the GM T and J platform or the Ford Capri, but

I just was thinking back to grade school when I usually had an apple with my lunch, and taking a swig of milk after eating it was 🤢

to be fair she was referring to the countless stories about preservatives and whatnot, not making the claim.

I wouldn’t say it looks “good enough to eat” but the lack of mold/rot comes down to two things: 1) salt, and 2) very little water.  low water activity inhibits microbes, and salt kicks ‘em when they’re down.  same reason cured sausages don’t need refrigeration.

mayflies obviously don’t eat (or excrete) once they’ve hatched. What they do do is sit on things and die. and ooze a bit as they decay. oh, and the other bugs that eat them do shit them out.

the French word for shit is “merde,” so I doubt it. probably one of those urban legends like the Nova flopping in Mexico because it means “doesn’t go” in Spanish.
