How we didnt make a next gen a-10 is crazy to me, or at least updated the existing ones.

Better at the roles suited to its more specific design.

You mean a specialized weapons platform is better then a multi-role platform?

This pod is good for 8.825 seconds of fire.

It’s actually a whole problem in any orgization...Its the top down thinking and never bottom up! The people who actually build, use and operate equipment, have a better understanding of what they need and the equipment can do! Its really the sad state of human thinking, that I’m higher paid, so I must know more than

In a twist of fate they could strap 4 of these in the A10 itself and fire ALL FIVE guns at the same time, just for the psychological effect, or if they ever need to sink a cruiser or battleship in a single pass. Pants would be soiled, unpractical as it may be.

You got to admit, the Japanese knew how to dress.

If you are asking why someone would do coke, you have never done coke.

It pains me to see how many of the higher ups are so painfully out of touch with reality that they think these half assed projects can replace the A-10.

That is a seriously great writeup!

Iowa did serve in the Atlantic/European/Africa theater, although on limited but very interesting tasking. On 24 February 1943, Iowa put to sea for a shakedown in the Chesapeake Bay and along the Atlantic coast. She got underway on 27 August for Argentia, Newfoundland, to counter the threat of the German battleship Tirp

That's the dumbest thing I've heard this weekend!

But it's not good compared to the A-10 it was supposed to replace.

It would be good if the gun pod worked but as you pointed out, it doesn't. The F-16 just cannot deal with the off-axis forces and it breaks the pylon. On the other hand it would be kind of neat to put one of those under each wing of an A-10.

Is that right?
