I live in CA and had modified my exhaust, but when it came time to get a SMOG inspection, I failed because of said modifications. As a result, I had to remove a J-pipe from my exhaust system to replace it back with a 3rd catalytic converter. Everything was fairly straightforward, but because my car was already old,

What’s ironic about this is that while they say they *can’t* give out refunds, they’ll also have no problem removing said software for 2nd hand buyers.

Sooooo...any chance you have a guide on how to get the DMV to stop asking you to renew your registration if your car has been wrecked and you’ve already chopped it up for parts? Had a bad mishap with my 2005 Acura TL....

Nah, I’m referring to the picture before one of his IG videos start

dang David starting to look SWOLE! I guess he’s comin’ out of Covid a hunk instead of a chunk

Forget the LCD replacement! Spend that money on a raspberry pi and hook up octoprint!

You sure you need a new engine just because it has an oil problem? I had an ‘05 and I believe they both share the J-series motor. Normally around 105k miles or so the oil pump seal tends to go out, which will start with a seep and then a leak. The seal isn’t much, but the labor requires a timing belt removal as well

I would definitely appreciate her! But I also tend to try to “modernize” my cars, which you may or may not appreciate. I.e. in my s2000, I replaced the trunk key lock with a 3d printed camera mount and then replaced the rearview mirror with one from a Tacoma so I could have a reverse camera. But yes, unfortunately a

I’d be open to that! But being as you mentioned kms...I would think you’re in Canada? Unfortunately I’m in California and I think our emissions laws are a bit more stringent...

ha! i’ve been looking for an ‘06-’08 with under 150k miles and 6MT, but alas, no such luck

wishful thinking, but wish they still made manual transmissions. Still miss my ‘05 6MT TL!

This is a terrible camera. I’ve accidentally left it plugged into an always on port, and found out that it can overheat in which case you can’t connect to it at all. I haven’t verified if it still saved videos, but that’s the last thing you want if you get in an accident - a dashcam that didn’t record videos

Oh God, if the price difference for a new G80 vs used is only around $2-$3k, spring for the new. That popular 100k mile warranty from Hyundai? That only applies to new cars, not 2nd hand buyers - and it’s well worth it. My cousin has an elantra, and at 96k miles there were signs that a rod bearing was about to go out.

This must be a sign for me. My 6MT 2005 TL just got totaled and I’m looking to get an NA 6MT 4 door - and I’ve had my eye on a TSX as of late!

Drove a ‘19 Si (4 door), didn’t like the clutch at all. I could barely feel any feedback, and only could shift based on memory off of my ‘05 Acura TL

car isn’t bad, but what’s more impressive are those pants!

I was driving on my way to work when I noticed a Toyota Tacoma in front of me was driving pretty erratically. I decided to call 911, and told them that I suspected drunk driving. I was also following the car (because there was no other way to work), but I definitely kept my distance. Within about a minute of hanging

I wonder how the clutch is on a CTR. I just drove my buddy’s 2019 Civic Si sedan, and the clutch was so light I could barely feel where the catch point was (and for reference, my DD is a manual Acura TL and my weekender is an S2000). If the CTR’s clutch pedal feel is just like the Si, then there isn’t really a leg
