Bloodborne is also the first time where I truly enjoy having purchased a PS4 over the Xbox One. Not going to lie it's the best game I've played this gen. And I've played a lot of the multiplatform and PS4 exclusive games that've been released thus far.

The "pause" in this game is when you go to the hunters dream. As far as I know you go there and retain everything you collect in the last play through you've had in Yarnham, and once you're there you can buy, upgrade and hangout. It's my way of "pausing the game". But it's not an instantaneous process.
