Not to mention Kidney and Liver damage!
Not nearly a marriage, but worth mentioning: Valerie_23
This occurred to me as well. Earth orbits the sun about 246 times faster than Pluto. OK, so there's been billions of years that Pluto has had to clear it's orbit, but that still seems less than fair. The IAU might consider some distance-from-home-star criteria relative to the "cleared orbit".
I totally agree.
NSFW in quirky ways you'd never expect.
Is "Arturo" close enough?
It is pleasing to see, every once in a while, an admission that some of the surety of Science has a less-than-concrete foundation. It is important for Scientists and Science students to remain aware that many of our measurement criteria are far from direct. When someone makes a statement about age, distance, mass,…
The Cake Is A Lie.
First thing I thought of also.
It's been more than a year since I read of a young woman who was making PV panels with an ink-jet printer and a pizza oven.
How might gravity be negated on Earth in a way that makes sense?
The original Firefly is already available on Hulu. If Hulu picks up the HD version it will be interesting to run them side-by-side.
DHMO!?!?!?!
The Bible is always true regardless whether you believe in it or not.
After reading the article at KQED it is still not clear whether these albinos are sprouted from seed or from a bud on the "parent" tree. I doubt it is from a bud because none of the garden-variety gymnosperms I have experience with are able to sprout new growth except where green leaves are present.
"Mutant" does seem like a poor word choice. I would guess that the albino branches still have a complete set of redwood genes, just some are not switched on. Anyone need a thesis to work on?
That is pretty extreme, but it may be similar to the variegation of many houseplants. Most of the colorful foliage plants we keep indoors started out as a spontaneous sport. Sometimes a branch of a normally green plant comes out with a pattern of spots or stripes where the chlorophyll is absent, or where all pigments…
It's hard to tell —- Are you trolling for Bible bashers, or are you just a superficial believer who won't even bother to fact-check their half-way-remembered confuscations about scriptures that they heard someone else read while they were dozing?
Yes, I read the article. Still I don't see how Serenity failed those criteria. It is quite arguable that she met all three.
