Try really hard to make sure there are as little hardware issues at launch as possible. A smooth launch would keep the momentum up. I'm so excited for this. It totally eclipsed every other MMO for me the minute I watched the Next and Next Landmark conference. Only other MMO that even is holding a candle to this for me right now is Wildstar. ESO looks down right boring compared to this sort of thing.

Neither of these companies are the bigger men types. They are mega companies with their hands in alot of places. They are aggressive and ambitious. Playing nice doesn't sync up with any of these executives. If saying some stupid line nets hypes and that nets more dollars - they are gonna do it.

I can sympathize with them. I don't feel misled and they have a right to reveal a game when it's beneficial for them. Hell maybe they just like going into events like E3 and doing a reveal to surprise people. It sort of steals their thunder and screws with their marketing strategies.
