I was always under the impression that the cold slows bacteria, not kills, and only heat kills it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@lauwersp: What do you mean by anything relavant? I'd think making most of the WM5, WM6 phones BEFORE iPhone came out pretty relavant.

On mac, I made a little app using automator to do the same. An applescript that asks me when I want it to remind me, an Ask for Confirmation popup that asks me if I want to continue working or not, and if I say no, it'll sleep my computer. Obviously, I can just ignore it, but this is the same.

@Athelas: That depends on the plane. Cathay Pacific, for one, has seats that recline by sliding your chair forwards vs sliding it back. Although it is slightly less comfortable for the sleeper, you won't disturb the one behind.
