that's so gay.

"what's really going on"?

the only guys with tanks is quadaffi. they can go on sorties just looking for armor. any armor they hit is the bad guy.

hahaha... wow... srsly, for the sake of the ill, i pray you're not a professional psych(anything).

"If it's not truly objective, it doesn't count. Don't put words in my mouth. "

it's been more or less a good chat... could have done without the amateur psychoanalysis but what the hey.

1. there is such a thing as a bad movie (bad book, bad tv, bad play).

"What she made clear is that you can like components of a movie while at the same time admitting the movie is not very good."

"What she made clear is that you can like components of a movie while at the same time admitting the movie is not very good."

thing is, not everything is purely subjective.

@PillBinge how the hell did you arrive at that?

"But, I don't believe Sucker Punch was trying to be a narrative-based film"

"There are entire movements that argue in favor of removing plot and character from certain stories in favor of displaying theoretical concepts or striking the heart of a theme or message without those things getting in the way."

hmmmm... wouldn't screw driven tanks be more durable and less maintenance demanding than treads? the only place where they would be at a true disadvantage is on paved roads but then again, most of today's conflicts see tanks using paved roads so... i guess that's why it lost.

"I'm not sure why so many people hold that as a the end-all be-all standard of storytelling..."

what continues to mystify me about many of the comments is the inability of many to simply not get this one thing:

this is kinda like a kid not taking their parents word for it that grabbing the high voltage wires will kill them... the kid is convinced that he just has to find out for himself. this is the philosophy that believes that something can only be learned through pain or in this case, death.

what i don't get is why there needed to be TWO levels to the fantasy? like someone just desperately needed to inject a bit of inception into something that had no need for it whatsoever.

it worked well enough in BRAZIL... which i think is probably the proper cited inspiration for this movie.

hehe,
