That’s awesome.
That’s awesome.
Fan backlash against Bendis is silly and dumb.
I wonder how much longer Bendis stories will keep appearing for Marvel? (Iron Man, Morales Spider-man, etc) He famously plots way WAY the hell in advance, as much as a year or two. We could conceivably be seeing stories from him for both companies, for a while.
Right. Bendis doesn’t “get” Miles Morales.
I’ve been an avid comics reader since 1977, I’ve read almost every damn thing, and I’ve never read anything by Geoff Johns that I liked. Not one time.
Infamous Iron Man, featuring Dr Doom attempting a redemption arc, was wonderful. Regular Iron Man has been excellent.
Sure. My point was not that WW belongs on the list; it’s that John Wick 2 and the Star Wars belong behind WW.
Re: “solid, but not especially novel.”
I’m ok with Wonder Woman not making a year-end best movies list. It’s a genre action-adventure movie, a superhero movie. Fine.
I just saw Justice League today. I found it extremely “meh” and unstatisfying. Wanted to like it: I loved Wonder Woman.
Apropos of nothing:
Did Batfleck assault someone?
(It’s hard to keep up these days.)
Good point. It’s easy to hear the story now and be all like “well obviously it wasn’t RAPE or anything really bad....”
But in the moment, as soon as he starts crossing boundaries / violating behavioral norms / whatever, they would have no idea where the hell it was going to go next. Gotta be very disturbing.
At least…
The comedy duo said they thought he was joking. Did they say “yeah sure” in a joking manner – and then he did it?!?
I just read Louis CK’s statement, quoted in the NYT. It’s about as complete as such a statement could be.
Funny, I don’t think CK has much in common with Carlin. He participated in the tribute to Carlin, and thanked him as a trailblazer, not so much content-wise but in demonstrating how to be in the world as a certain type of comic, releasing new material periodically etc. But I wouldn’t have called CK “like” Carlin.
Oh, I didn’t take it that way at all. I took it as a very mature response to it. If you get all caught up in denials etc, it takes the focus off the work.
Not really?
Happy Feet was the best science fiction first-contact movie of all time, until Arrival came along last year.
No Gattaca? But there’s room for Back To The Future?
Ok.
