The Mechanic was awesome. Bronson, Jan Michael Vincent. There was a shitty remake of it within the past couple years, with the always-likable Jason Statham. The original is really something.

Paul Levitz' run on Legion from about 1981 on might be the purest form of that idea. Some of the best super-team book writing of all time. Kid-appropriate, even with the Darkseid story, until the series went to glossy around 1984.

Batman The Brave and The Bold is sneaky awesome. My son started watching it on Netflix – before Netflix somehow, tragically choked it away a year or so ago – and I thought it was stupid. But after a while, sitting in the same room with it on, I noticed that many of the episodes are really, really clever.

VideoDisc is different from Laser Disc?

I *LOVED* this series of books. I was 10, so that memory doesn't represent a well-considered critical evaluation or anything. But I loved them back then. A thoughtful adaptation could be really great for kids.
