they had been after Dalton since OHMSS. Dalton was signed for Brenda Starr at the time, so they went with Brosnan (the media's popular choice) but Remington Steele got renewed so Brosnan was also unavailable.

I enjoyed Goldeneye, and I think Tomorrow Never Dies is one of the most underrated Bond films

Both From Russia with Love and For your eyes only, two of the best Bonds, were about some coding machines and nothing more.

My wife loves the cruise ship essay, and keeps telling me to read it. Instead I read his one from the same collection, on the porn convention.

I liked it. It's an intelligent "small" thriller. When I realized I was basically watching a Chuck Norris movie, an artifact from another era, it all fell into place for me. It is rather perfectly done, for what it is.

No likes yet, but good luck!
(Off to Google the band)

WTF? Why would anyone want Greengrass to direct an action movie?!? He made the totally unwatchable Bournes 2&3 – "unwatchable" in the sense that try as you might to watch the action in those movies, you can't because of the absurd jump cutting. There MIGHT be an awesome fight scene or an awesome car chase in those

There are worse Bond movies than Quantum.

I love Jessica Lawrence. Much better than that whore Jennifer Chastain.

Is Kitty still around as a grownup in the MU? I've moved away from comix the last 5 or 6 years or so. I read Joss Whedon's awesome X-men series, that's the last I saw of Kitty.

Roger Sterling! That's a fucking killer Reed Richards right there.

Yes. Kirk is the one who gave the 'I will not kill – today" speech. Half of the episodes are him negotiating peace in some conflict situation.

Showoff! :-) I don't even remember "The Hildebrant Rarity".

Dr. No follows its source book EXTREMELY closely

I liked the pre-credit sequence too. The only stuff in Goldeneye that is terrible is basically from the credits until he meets Sean Bean. But that's a long chunk of movie! Esp embarrassing is the rehashed stuff from Thunderball & Goldfinger: the sequence with the girl who's evaluating him, the driving along winding

I re-listened when my wife watched the trailer, and I was wrong about 1:15 (and you were right). It's "just chords", but it's that music.

you may not actually like Bond films.

(Casino Royale is okay as an action movie, but it is NOT a Bond film)

"Lazenby was good at best" is far too kind. i never understand how people think the Bond movie with the worst Bond performance can be the best one.

I don't understand the fawning for this movie. Diana Rigg was great, but …
