So, tearing her clothes off, forcing her face down on the bed, hearing her cry and whimper and near scream? Not rape?
Because she consented to all of that. It's because she's married to Ramsay now, isn't it?

the fact that he ripped off her clothes and pushed her against the bed before she could finish undressing herself and signalize that she was ready … the way I see it, it was still rape. It was definitely not consensual

Except there was no rape.

Unfortunately for Sana (and the modern viewer), the act was obviously violent and was violence (or power) expressed through sex. But the act was also consensual in that she wasn't taken against her will - Ramsay obviously forced himself on her but she 'consented' to be raped in this way.
Morally speaking, however, the

I hear you, but this does not seem to apply. Sansa understood that she was going to have sex with Ramsey, and came along willingly. She never revoked consent (I think; but I really don't want to re-watch to make sure).

Yes, thank you. Exactly the way I saw it.

Yeah, I'm expecting to get hammered. I really appreciate your making the effort to take the question seriously.

He didn't give a shit about Jeyne Poole, but there's no way in hell he [Littlefinger] would give Catelyn Tully's daughter to Ramsay fucking Bolton.

Sansa was not raped by Ramsay in the books.

I seem to be ~2,700 comments behind, so forgive me if this has been covered. (It almost certainly has.) But:

Instructive thread. Here are the top songs mentioned, that are NEITHER on the Power Hour Mix NOR on the "Midlife" intro 2-CD set:
(in order by "top" vote total)

The problem is, it may have started as a parody but it's a fucking killer lick. There are few things more purely fun to listen to than Song #2.
(And I say that as an American who listened to Parklife over and over around 1996 or so. Loved "This Is A Low")

Geez. Kansas-Missouri makes Shiloh look like a Nerf-gun fight. :-)

One of the great mid-century Civil War historians, I think it was Allen Nevins, had an essay on Gone With The Wind's frankly evil distortions of history. The essay was awesome. I've been trying to find it online — I'll keep looking.

Well no, tng was better all around

I do agree that TNG was all conferences and meetings, with no regard for minor things like drama, suspense, etc. Sure. Early TNG in particular was basically just a bunch of people sitting in a Ramada Inn lobby, being candid about their feelings.

Yes! I love when he's on the roof, with the helicopter coming over the building at him, and he's wrapping the fire hose around his waist and yelling "What the fuck are you doing, John!"

And George Bailey is not a simp about it. He's mad. He's got a ton of anger & resentment built up over decades, but he soldiers on and does the right thing.

[Picard is] also notable for being much more consensus driven than Kirk was. TNG spends a huge amount lot of time in the conference room with the crew debating options.

Just chiming in on how wonderful the Aubrey-Maturin books are. I don't know that either one of those guys is really a role model: maybe for friendship. I honestly think those books feature the best-realized male friendship in all of fiction.
