Saw that, too. I'm thinking it's a diaper thing to catch the fluids.
I'm kinda sick of all of these "edge of space" balloon trips. Space starts at 100 kilometers or about 62 miles up (per FAI regulations), which is a bit over 328,000 feet. This glider got to a max altitude of a bit over 108,000. While higher than most of us have or will ever go and a damn cool idea and video, I don't…
Staying tuned for word on your DC festivities. Any ideas on where and when yet? Will us reader-shmoes be invited? Also, you may want to bug out Tuesday evening to avoid Snowquester and stuck and bogged down, just like progress, change, etc.
Close to the Pentagon? I'll give you close to the Pentagon. (That's me in the left seat and my buddy Mike as co-pilot and video setup specialist.) Check about 1:30 for Pentagon closeup.
Thai food restaurant. (I live right near this place. I DON'T drive an Xterra.)
And, after watching for about the 57th time, it's clear that she still has the bag in her hand, it's just been clipped and its contents distributed rather ungracefully. Holy mother of all fuck. I'd stand there for a bit, too. Jebus.
Good lord. Did he take a bag of stuff right out of her hand? Look at the debris around her feet after impact? I think he clipped a bag from her grip? That's insane. "There's a bit of poo!"
Even though a bit predictable, this one did make me laugh. Thanks for that.
Too funny. As others have said, totally fake. Another giveaway? The strobe on top of the Backfire moves from mid-fuselage to closer to the tail. Check 1:00 to 1:10 to see what I mean.
Well, it's definitely not a 777 as Alaska only flies 737s (not to mention that 777s don't have the blended winglets seen in the video.) Certainly appears to be an Alaska 737 judging by the paint job on aforementioned winglet.
Sweet. Thanks!
How are you getting street view? I can't seem to figure that out.
Yep, could be "dirty" roll or just a slower fly-by.
I always thought this was a great shot, too. And right here on US soil. Welcome to the Caterpillar Club, gents.
Here's a way for a lot of people to have fun with mirror shots. I give you, The Laviators. http://hpoole.wordpress.com/laviators/
NASA Astrovan unloading spot. Just dropping off some astronauts under a full-fueled shuttle system, creaking, popping and ready to light. No smoking please. Have a nice day!

My lord that was a GREAT read. Made my morning. "I'm gonna make it look like a LIGHTNING BOLT!" Brilliant. Thank you for this.
Here's some video of testing the EMALS at Lakehurst on a C-2A Greyhound. Pretty astonishing watching something that big accelerate that fast.
