I was really surprised when I finally saw Cannibal Holocaust. Given it was banned and I'd had to track down a copy hidden in a corner of a bong shop I was expecting something horrific.

Oh come on, no 6mg support?

Does make kinda make you imagine the conspirators sitting there waiting; 'have Tyrion and Joffrey been nasty enough to each other yet?' 'Nope.' 'Well could they hurry up, the weddings on bloody Tuesday'

I was really hoping for a Malcolm Shakespearean moment of 'More' from Littlefinger but 'everything' will have to do, even if it felt a little obvious compared to the great ladder speech.

I'm not sure it's helpful to isolate this scene from The Last Detail. Comparing the presentations of working class life in both films would seem to be more fruitful, especially to understand better what Ashby wanted to achieve with such a stereotypical moment.

At least Stray Bullets is back.
Cool beans Mr, Lapham, cool beans indeed.

Just found it bizarre (along with all the other horrible emotional mistakes) that the story of the mother was of a young woman dealing with a terrible tragedy who herself dies tragically young. That's just brutal, especially when told by the happy widow about to fuck the woman he really loved all the time they were

If people enjoyed this and History of Britain you should really track down Shama's The Power of Art. It's an absolute masterpiece and the Rothko episode is probably my favourite piece Shama created.

To be fair, it's not a hard cover and it reads pretty easy. Compared to something like The Invisibles, or even the Planetary Omnibus editions it's really pretty readable.

I liked that in the end it didn't empower the cult's beliefs or worship. I felt the madness of Carcosa and the Yellow King were all ultimately a mythology created by pedophiles to terrify their victims.

Yeah, when Rust saw that I assumed it was the Yellow King - it'd be right in front of the people being abused who'd been told they were going to meet the King.

Goddamn, Charles Laughton, that was exactly who I was thinking of but I couldn't quite place it. Cheers :)

For Ellroy there's a shocking lack of dog dicks mentioned in this article, man is slipping in his old age.

Dana being in All-Star Racing was a damn strange decision but don't let that put you off - best kart racing game in a decade, wonderful fun.

I was thinking the same time. We've had a few references to 'the girls in the woods' and the incident around them. I imagine that's what we'll move towards after the next episode apparently resolves who killed the two girls.
