I’m in Alberta, Canada so yes snow is a major factor in my decision making and I have loved AWD with my Subaru. It is why I am hesitant on the GTI.

I am still undecided between the R and the GTI, another commenter in here made some very good points on why the GTI is almost as good as the R and is a better bang for the $.
