Actually lately the show does do a nice reinvention, a working class family straight , with money problems, they treat everyone the same, gay Brad, the dumb jock, the special needs kid and in doing so are more inclusive than most shows on TV

Since Lowe's character is so wonderfully farcical and the whole premise is ridiculous why not embrace the silliness of the show, like the aforementioned Eastbound and Down, I give FOX credit for going so far out with the show, I wonder if it can be sustained but I am enjoying it for now.
