Maybe they’re making up for letting that little Ellie Kemper off the hook so easy.

You note it yourself: it’s a mass death of people with Y chromosomes. That happens to include a majority of trans women. ‘The Last Man’ here refers to the last biologically male person, because biological sex (yes, which is not a binary) is the central concept for the core conceit here.

Fuck yeah I’d watch the shit out of a U2 series like that.

I wouldn’t mind something like this with U2 but it would have to be the whole band and not just The Edge or Bono. But Elvis Costello would definitely be a good one too. I can think of more bands than individual artists and I’m guessing this kind of series would work better with one vs. multiple band members. Actually,

How is this a pr nightmare? K

“No artist wants their work to leak and fumble the meticulously coordinated launch of a new era, unless they’re on some Banksy nonsense.”

These days a leaked single doesn’t even register as a “PR nightmare.”

Sammy’s overestimating both his value and appeal.

Time period wise, it also wasn’t uncommon for females at that age to be married or in a relationship. Standards were different.

Please be aware: The word is “canon” and none of these characters is actually real. Blame the writers if you want to blame someone, but I’ll just imagine that these purely imaginary characters were more appropriately aged when they fucked, and continue enjoying Indiana Jones.  It’s really easy if you try.

You’re free to consider sources from outside what’s explicitly stated in the film as canon, but others aren’t obligated to do so. So, yes, based on what is said/shown onscreen, it’s indeed possible to interpret Marion as having been 18, i.e., literally not a child, at the time of the incident in question.

Would you please stop being so damned reasonable?

Well, at least we can still come here for the website's other redeeming qualities such as...

I always took “I was a child” to be metaphorical; young adult or so. But considering who wrote this article, I think we’re lucky Indiana Jones isn’t being called a rapist in every sentence.

It has become pretty damn tiresome at this point.

I never took “I was a child” to mean that she was literally a child, but just that Marion was a college-age teenager (say, 18 or 19), and he was 8 or 10 years older.  So she still felt like a kid in comparison to him, the older man.

Anybody know of an entertainment site with active comments where every second article isn’t about how everybody in entertainment is secretly a piece of shit?

“Indiana Jones isn’t an unimpeachable action hero who always does the right thing and always has a perfect plan in his back pocket (like a James Bond or an Ethan Hunt)”

In 22 years, everyone gets to track down Sam Barsanti and co. to remind them of how, in 2021, they used an event from 1999 to mount a stunningly dishonest assault on someone’s reputation in order to earn ad revenue for Gizmodo Media Group.

Does this make you feel good Sam?  To know you participated in a harassment campaign of a woman surrounding a complete non-troversey?  So much for not punching down, eh?
