Uh . . . ok, sure. Whatever.

Sick burn, Bro.

Hey, dumb-ass, don’t you know the difference between “affect” and effect”? You’re an illiterate boob.

I’ll take your word for it, I’ve never seen a MMA fight in my life. Rousey may be no more of a bozo than any other fighter in MMA but her clownishness made it out into the mainstream. The scary face, the shit-talking Mayweather, etc.

Even without the consideration of family, etc., at her age it is probably a good time to retire. Go out on top. But the potential money and the competitiveness that got her into the sport in the first place probably preclude that. When it gets right down to it, women’s MMA is a very niche sport. Holm isn’t going to be

That’s a great point. I personally think the skill difference between the two outweigh the affect of age (assuming they fight in the next couple years). I also think that modern science and training is pushing that mid-30’s athletic decline back a bit, especially in someone who is a a complete professional like Holm.

She’ll never admit it but she’s got to be terrified at the prospect of going back in the ring with Holm. She was completely out to sea in the fight and her boxing isn’t going to get any better. From a pure skill point of view, she had no business being in the same ring as Holm. I think she’s got to come up with a

Her adolescent psychological profile is physically manifested in the stupid, theatrical mean face she makes at weigh-ins and in the face off prior to the fight. I can’t imagine how she could remember the way she acted in the pre-fight without cringing in embarrassment after getting her ass so thoroughly handed to her

She can get bigger and stronger but her boxing skills probably aren’t improving appreciably and she’s going to be just as vulnerable to someone like Holm who has legitimate boxing skills. Rousey looked like she had no idea that Holm was a southpaw. She was basically landing that left hand at will. It was nice to see

Probably because Harp has never really gotten any traction in the US, at least where I live. I don’t think that our state liquor stores even carry it. I don’t mind Harp, especially in a Black and Tan, but it’s fairly similar to lots of other beers. Guinness stout, on the other hand, is pretty distinctive and

Well, de gustibus and all that . . .

I think that’s three too many verys, in my opinion but I do like it. I think you heard from some folks who really like it.

I think comparing it to Bud is a bit unfair, it was quite a bit better than that, in my opinion. I have a hard time choking down a Bud and the Blonde went down pretty well. It has been so long since I had a Kirin that I wouldn’t even know. Just in general though, all japanese beer tastes exactly like Bud to me.

Funky and Tart was the name of my college garage band. Really miss those guys.

It’s pretty impressive that at some point some mad brewer said, “You know what, fuck it, let’s just open the windows and let whatever floats by ferment it.” And it actually worked. From a lay perspective, brewing beer seems pretty complicated and leaving something to chance could not possibly work.

I agree. It’s a perfectly good beer and now I think I’m going to grab a pack on the way home from work.

The sour beers are somewhat like the passively fermented beers from Belgium, right? We have a local bar with an insanely huge beer menu and I’ve been pretty adventurous but I can never remember what I’ve had (possibly related to the fact that the whiskey list is pretty impressive, too.)

Now that you say that, I think I might have whiskey-boosted the Blondes, as I am wont to do. So the Blondes might be getting credit for the flavor bestowed by two fingers of Ezra Brooks.

Makes perfect sense, thanks.

What the hell is infected beer? Is that an industry term or does it mean what I think it means. I might’ve given the Blonde extra credit because my expectations were so low going in.
