There is no one vehicle that checks all these boxes. What the Subarus make up for in MPG, they give up in capability. So you’ll be parking at the trailhead with every other non-body-on-frame no-transfer-case CVT’d compact SUV out there.

“too much for too little”

I Like the 4runner but too much for too little

I got it for the last year for Tesla, like $1800. Colorado still had a $4000 tax credit at the time.

The Y was our fourth car, so it didn’t need to solve the “only car that can do everything” problems (road trips etc) for us that the Tesla does better than other EVs.

Had my Model Y for 18 months / 16K miles, sold it for $6K more than I paid for it.  Original plan was just to get in line for another one, but now I’m waiting on the BZ4X.

From today’s press release: https://pressroom.toyota.com/the-future-is-now-toyota-launches-all-new-bz4x-suv-battery-electric-vehicle/

Experienced this at JFK about 5 years ago, rear tires had just touched the ground and the engines spun back up, I can’t remember if the nose ever touched the ground. Highly irregular. The pilot did come on after a few minutes apologizing about “ground traffic”, I suspect it was a plane that had moved into position at t

I’m just hoping they carry the 3.5L TT into the 4Runner, but they’ll probably give it the 3.5 hybrid and also put that in the Tacoma.  They seem to be on this “if you want the best of Toyota, buy a Lexus” trend lately.

Heard it straight from a source at Lexus last weekend, new GX looks like a lot like the Defender. And a few weeks before that at the Lexus driving school, powerplant will be the 3.5L TT.

Shame it will probably come on 22's with no sidewall. As long as it can fit some TRD 17's I guess...

Now playing

I did a video with TFL about the S2000 -> NSX -> LC500 journey:

Of course, if you have a desirable trade and get a ridiculously generous offer from a dealer to go up 5 model years for a new vehicle (with a substantial discount) maybe you’re not so dumb?

It’s also a soft confirmation that Ferrari isn’t cheating, at least in a way that they know and are hoarding to themselves.

It’s also true that Sunday’s results were a bit all over the map, with Kevin Magnusson of Haas finishing fifth on a team that was the worst last year, and Valtteri Bottas finishing sixth for an Alfa Romeo team that was second-worst last year.

Haven’t owned an s2000 in 4 years but still knew what it was immediately by those AP2V3 wheels, yummy

Garage 4 years ago. ‘15 XTerra, ‘06 S2000, ‘00 NSX and ‘11 GS460 in the back. Tight fit for all of it.

In all of those respects, I appreciate the Supra’s German roots because they made it a more pleasurable place to be than the interior of any Toyota I’ve ever occupied.

Re NSX:

What Lexus really needs to do is decide if it wants to stay in the sports compact and midsize luxury segment and invest in a modular RWD coupe platform that is wide and low

The Y comes with two wheel options: stock 19 or upgraded 20's. So if you go with the smallest wheel Tesla puts on the Y, you get an extra half inch of sidewall for the same wheel + tire diameter.
