Assumption is that this engine is the 3.5L twin turbo from the Lexus LS, so they’ve been running it for a few years.

I’ve owned three used cars in my life, and every single one of them left me stranded on a highway somewhere

Yeah screw the gutless S2000.

That “used (minimum) 12 year old car” is appreciating in value. Not depreciating like every 86/BRZ on the road.

This car has the potential to be quite collectable when they stop making it in a couple of years.

Lack of a factory sunroof is the same damn reason I didn’t buy the FJ Cruiser when I was looking at them.

Buy an S2000 instead.  And no matter how many miles you were going to put on it, it will still be worth more than the 86 when you’re done.

How many sub-3000 lb RWD manual coupes are there for $30K brand new?

No one complains about the Miata’s power.

Side-opening door is better if you want to mount a spare tire on it (FJ Cruiser). The stock spare tire space on a 5th gen 4Runner (‘10-’21+) under the deck barely fits the stock tire, nevermind if you go up in size. That’s the main benefit.

The GX’s are full-time AWD so the center diff locks, not the rear.  They don’t really have a lot of options to choose from, I think the center locker is standard on all of them.

It’s a tie between an ‘02.5 Jetta turbo and a ‘99 Wrangler.

Toyota knows how to do business.
...
That gives a little freedom to develop the fun stuff like Supra and the Yaris GR.

I’ve flown to Atlanta more times than any reasonable person should to buy lightly used, off-lease, half-the-price-of-new RWD Lexus sedans. Two of them V8's. So trust me when I say that I have experience with boring, competent power and unparalleled vehicle quality.

Common business practice to protect property from bankruptcy

Have you seen what C8's are still going for at Mecum and Barrett Jackson? $20-30K+ over sticker. This shouldn’t be a surprise for the Bronco.

For the same reason DeMuro buys Land Rovers: reliable vehicles make bad Jalopnik / Youtube content.

How much harder is it to drive a Japanese motorcycle on the right side of the road?  :-D

Yep NREL, it’s a great spot for photos.

February or March 2020, yeah. I’ve been to some smaller ones since, but the big one in Lafayette is the best. There’s usually a few NSXs, mine is the only blue one I’ve seen there.
