REM is in.  That covers 80's college rock as far as Jann Wenner is concerned.

Nicklas Lidstrom?

I recently read a book about the Boston music scene in the late 60's and Chevy popped up there as a short-term drummer for a band called Chamaeleon Church.  It seems like comedy wasn’t the only area where he was a total asshole.

The introduction of the Skrulls makes me want an FF movie more than ever just so I can enjoy the lunacy of the Super-Skrull.  He’s got all the powers of the Fantastic Four but is somehow less effective than an average shape-shifting Skrull.

Jesus, All My Ghosts is 20 years old now?  This being old thing is no fun

My first thought about the smiley faces on the monitors was that Randall Flagg wore one on his jacket.  I figured this was a reference to his presence somehow.

I managed to fulfill one of my dad’s wishes by playing Kind of Blue while he was on his deathbed.  I like to think that he knew even though he probably didn’t.

Honestly, I’m not sure.  I’ve just been doing a re-read of the Claremont run and every time I see Doom on the cover, I know I’m just being set up for another lame Arcade issue.

Arcade’s Murderworld seemed inexplicably popular with Chris Claremont.  He kept bringing it back for some damn reason.

Jax-Ur?

Spring Rain is such an unbelievably great song but I’m guessing the Go-Betweens didn’t come anywhere near the charts here.

Joan even brings them over to the couch to chat.  Making for a deeply uncomfortable looking Bob Mould.

I love Kerosene but I might argue that Cables is the Big Black song 30 years down the line.

The Coog does not approve.

Wasps’ Nest remains in constant rotation for me. So many great songs on there.

And then Dick Taylor joined the Mekons for Fear and Whiskey and helped usher in the whole No Depression scene.

I’d put Against All Odds and In The Air Tonight against most of McCartney’s solo output. And I don’t particularly like Phil Collins at all.

Or a big Happy Days fan. That’s Leather Tuscadero!

I prefer the “grunge” bands who clearly were hair bands until that no longer served as a gateway to getting signed. I’m looking in your direction Candlebox.

Worse moment? KRS-One’s very weak rap or Chuck D. showing up to say “Tell it like it is!” on Sonic Youth’s Kool Thing?
