He’s the hero New York deserves, but not a hero with knees right now.

Damn. And I was really hoping Rose’s career wasn’t over.

In the 12 series the Bulls played in when they won their 6 NBA championships (6 Eastern Conference Finals, 6 NBA Finals) they never played a team that would go on to win an NBA Championship with that group of players. Of the top 10-11 NBA players of all time (Russell, Wilt, Oscar, West, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan,

So rings are the appropriate measure when you want them to be, and not the appropriate measure when you don’t want them to be?

Charles just put Russell in the top 5 of all-time and many would agree. Why don’t Russell and his 11 championships trump Jordan? Russell won 11 championships in 13 years(including 2 championships as player-coach)...Jordan won 6 championships in 15 years. Russell has the same number of MVP awards(5) as Jordan. Russell

“Obvious reasons” being that a single digit number is a lot easier to point to while saying “durrrr championships” than actually, you know, analyzing careers in context.

He’s already made it to more finals than Jordan did (7 vs 6). And Jordan was playing for a team that was an Eastern Conference Semifinalist without him — the Cavs were a lottery team w/o LeBron.

I bet you think that Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback than Marino too huh.

I’m gonna assume you’re an insufferable person to spend time with.

Rings never were not a stupid way to measure greatness. Robert Horry has seven of them. Was he greater than Wilt Chamberlain?

Not only that, but the responsibility that LeBron has on any team he plays on is WAAAY outside the range of MJ’s.

I would say that that MJ’s defense was predicated on two things:

Every single GM in the league, besides Krauss, should have been fired for allowing the Bulls to sign Rodman. To this day, I do not understand how they allowed that to happen. He was the perfect compliment to Jordan and Pippen.

LeBron James just made possibly the greatest defensive play ever with 2 minutes left in a tied game 7 of the NBA Finals.

I completely agree with you. Iverson was not a good defender but racked up a ton of steals because he would get beat and try to poke the ball or lunge in the passing lane and then need help D to bail him out.

Out of all the historical matchups that we could possibly witness, none intrigues me more than a Draymond Green vs. Dennis Rodman matchup.

And the best Bulls teams had Dennis Rodman, another dominant defender, so there were points where Jordan was the third best defensive player on his own team.

Steals are a trash way of measuring defense. Larry Hughes led the NBA in steals—not because he was a good defender, but because he was a terrible one who hunted for steals at the expense of giving up easy backdoor cuts and drives to the basket.
