I imagine the sharpshooters on the roof are equipped with both rifles and shotguns. I imagine they also have sophisticated signal blocking. The large cordon is to provide time for detection, identification, designation and response to RC planes (hey, perhaps even rocket powered), which are much quicker.

The storage vault!

Apologies, I thought it rather condescending of YOU to suggest that I (anyone infact) would think ISIS would follow a directive of the US Government.

I refer you to my previous comment.

Absolutely nothing, other than there were a lot simpler ways to circumvent defense and deliver explosives to a target prior to the current protocols now deemed necessary to provide adequate security. Remember when you could just walk onto the plane?

No, but if you impose a ban on goobers trying to post yet another "Amazing Drone Footage" video on the tubes, there will be a manageable number of potential targets to monitor. It's called risk management and target acquisition.

ISIS would love to deliver a package to the field, since they are such media-attention whores. Drones offer an exceedingly easy way to do that, although payload is going to be more for dramatic effect than mass destruction.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest this might be quite practical, and entertaining, in the zombie apocalypse.

I agree that the cost of providing broadband to rural communities is high, and that satellite is inherently latent due to the upstream channel. However, most abnormal latency that people experience is either because your roommate is on VOIP, your ISP or a partner has had a failure, or your target is being hit. If you

ROI is definitely there... just going to take a while. Save the old bulbs, and take the LEDs with you if you move!

And then suddenly they tunnel underneath... :)

Correction:

I guess I'm just used to latency never being an issue, even when I game.

Well, until we can get a handle on the script kiddies and the whackers and their botnets, latency is going to be a sporadic problem. But you're right, that is addressable through technology, but those who want to attack and disrupt will always have the edge over the aggressor.

Lol, glad you missed the 75 baud acoustic coupler days!

No, it shouldn't, but nice try. Latency doesn't make your movie buffer, but it might slow down, in a miniscule amount, your pecking around 4chan if it is really horrendous. While latency is certainly a component of an SLA, it's not the key.

Remember when it was defined as 200kbps? Man, that connection screamed....!

You are such a moron.

I see boobs.
