It didn’t matter what he picked. He picked out two popular movies from when the culture was overwhelmingly white. It doesn’t matter if a lot of those Hollywood types from then were immigrants, jewish, or whatever else. It’s just the time period of far less inclusiveness is what matters. Which was the subtext here.

It’s crazy to think about industry standards back then, when you’d regularly have dozens of artists and programmers on a project being so dramatically overworked. Things have come such a long way now that it’s hundreds of them.

Honestly the only version I really enjoy is the original radio play.  I have a copy on vinyl from like the ‘60s and it’s wonderful.  The book is kind of dry for the most part and the movies aren’t much better.

Flying Blind to a Safe Landing--How the Creators of MYST Gambled and Won

Teenage me loved how incredibly depressing that book was. I don’t know if 35-year-old me would feel the same way, but at the time I appreciated the sheer nut punch darkness of the ending.

I think moreso than how Heigl's (and Mann's) character was written, it's that she suffered from the Skyler White problem, where any rational adult knows they're in the right, but the production is also in love with showing off how awesome the shitty male leads are.

I honestly don’t know whether or not either of these people are Sam Worthington.

I’d argue that Joe is not an anti-hero, as the headline designates him. An anti-hero has impure but sympathetic motivations. Revenge is an example of this motivation, because who among us have never at least *wanted* revenge even though we know it isn’t “morally correct”?

ha yeah. If there’s one thing you can’t say about UnReal is that they slowed it down in Season 2.

My biggest fear was that You is gonna follow in the footsteps of UnReal. That show’s first season was some very clever trash which then quadruple downed on the trash and You seemed in the same danger.

Waiting for Muhammadot?

One of the British actors in this in a small role was a good friend of my parents, and said the whole thing was an utter debacle, with the producer / director Moustapha Akkad shooting several different versions of almost every scene, trying to be covered for every possible eventuality, wanting to being able to edit

I am the entire culinary department! Recipe development, photography, writing - the whole 9 yards. The holidays have been insane, but come 2020 you’re going to get so many fun facts you won’t even be able to handle it.

My wife’s best friend was married to a triathlete.  You couldn’t be more wrong.  Or maybe he just overtrained.
