Exactly. They setup the world as one full of unanswerable questions and then forced imperfect people to find peace with that.

I think the next season could make for a solid epilogue, but yeah, this episode was a home run of a series finale. Circle closed, vomit sounds, repeat.
You’re so brave!
Gerald’s Game was the closest thing I’ve ever seen to a proper movie take on Stephen King. I wish Mike Flanagan was involved here too, but Joe Hill’s voice is off enough from his dad’s that it might not be the right fit.
I feel like the show is just shy of finding its groove. Most everybody involved is killing it, the kids are solid, the humor occasionally goes delightfully dark. It’s just lacking something to hold it together. The recent episode directed by Carrie Brownstein closed that gap a bit, suggesting a stronger visual voice…
Diets aren’t really make or break, it’s a long process of gradual returns. You’re playing margins over months if you’re not fad dieting or outright fasting. A real simple first rule to start with is “stop drinking so many calories.” They’re not filling and they go down quick.
“Is that a person?”
Whatever the fuck is going on here, I’m genuinely into Tom Hardy’s performance. It’s weird as hell. I had zero interest in this thing, but... I’m kind of feeling like this could be delightful. The “Anti-Hero” marketing is some real garbage, but I think Hardy might have made something that’s at least a fascinating…
Even the Pod Save America/Former Obama guys have some nasty bro-sexism history, and they were very much pro-Hillary.
It was how I discovered Pan and Scan. I thought it was a lazy visual trick that was necessary for having the multiple Keaton’s in close-up, only to discover the truth years later.
The pre-production on this movie was what got me into following the online film sites back when the book came out. I was a kid and liked it a lot more straightforwardly back then, but I’m glad the people who finally got this thing going saw the real potential in it was the cheese and spectacle. Bizarre end of an era…
My god, you people are still doing this.
I like a shotgun approach. And I’m not going digging through the festering stew of his twitter feed, but I think I recall something from around December of last year. Show’s been on hiatus for a while.
It’s not a great impression (though I blame the writing more than Baldwin). BUT, it seems specifically designed to enrage Trump, so I usually enjoy it. The more ridiculous Baldwin gets with his stupid faces, the more annoyed I’m sure Trump is, and the more I’m willing to tolerate the laziness of the material.
If I had a proper sized Dutch oven I might not have flipped so fast, but the one I have is teensy. Seriously though, the roasts I’ve made turned out more tender than I’ve accomplished in the oven. I’m considering doing a proper sear in a cast iron skillet and transferring over to the instant pot next time, but that…
I love the thing, especially for Indian food. It’s not quite the time saver it’s made out to be (though I threw together some incredible Italian beef in about an hour and a half of cooking), but it cooks tender meat like a champ. Replaced my (small) Dutch oven and slow cooker right away.
