I used to get really hung up on past social encounters that I felt were awkward. Then I realized that most people do weird and awkward things most of the time and no one cares or even remembers for very long. Seriously, try and remember the last time someone else did something mildly awkward with you. It's hard,

Right, it's easy to dismiss this by pretending it was a single incident, but Dunham herself documents many more incidents, and even goes as far as to compare her own behavior to that of a sexual predator. It's truly outrageous and clearly political that anyone would attempt to stand by this behavior as "normal".

Just chiming in to say that the Roku is hands down the best streaming device you can purchase. I've used almost every single major competitor (Apple TV, Boxee, Chromecast, numerous smart devices, etc.), and I can honestly say that Roku nails it. From its simple-to-use interface, to its speed (even on older models),

Came here to post that. Beat me to it!

    1) I didn't write that

Or, you know, they could do their jobs and be nice to everyone. You shouldn't have to bribe them with office supplies.

fwiw I dated a Guatemalan girl for a while and she taught me to eat a mango by slicing it like in the video, slice the cheeks off, so now you have three parts. She'd then eat the mango right from the cheeks, which is easy to do, since the skin gives you something to hold. It's still a bit messy, though, because

Agreed that real hardware RAID is great, but out of reach for most consumers. Its performance is unparalleled, and I wouldn't advocate anything else in an environment where performance matters. The problem with hardware raid on motherboards is that your array is now tied to your motherboard. What happens when the

Yeah, you're right. That much I get. Something about that line just rubbed me the wrong way. This was a fascinating read anyway, though. And a rare glimpse into a world I'd prefer didn't even exist...

From an observer's perspective, PUAHate is a group of self-pitying babies who believe they're entitled to women who are much more attractive than they are.

Whoa! The language packs used to be pretty expensive, I'm glad I only bought one or two. Nice!

For those of you cringing at the phrasing (myself included) and considering an alternative, I think I understand how this works, which can help you decide on some alternate phrasing: Typically, when negotiating, you're going back and forth, you want to pay $50 for something and the person selling it wants $100 for

I also suspect that the surge of cider drinking we're seeing is directly related to the gluten-free trend.

OMG a politically incorrect joke. Quick! Must sanitize all media before people think it's ok to own slaves again and bring it back.

    Well THAT'S good to know!

You'll probably catch a lot of flak for this comment, but I agree 100%. If you are prepared to die in that situation, then engaging is your best option. But you will absolutely become the shooter's primary target. You will absolutely save lives, or at least give people a fighting chance at survival, by doing this,

Yikes! If this thread has taught me anything, it's that YMMV when it comes to Netflix! Sorry you're having so much trouble - it's always seemed very stable to me. I'm curious what makes some people have such a crappy experience, while others have no problems at all. Since Amazon streams well to you, I assume it's

Interesting! It looks like it's very dependent on the client app. I don't have any experience with Xbox, I can only confirm that it works well (for me) on a Boxee, Roku, and PS3.

Interesting, I don't have an Apple TV, so no comment there. My only experience has been with a Boxee, Roku, and PS3. Netflix has always worked great on all three for me. I'll take note of that, though, because I'm always considering picking up an Apple TV.
