"But they're just so cute when they poop everywhere"
This. This was perfect.
Considering the price of offsite backups nowadays, I'd put that first. Forget about local backups unless you have an ultra slow Internet connection and a lot of data or do not have unlimited/enough bandwidth.
Unfortunately, no. That was point #3 in my post - something I wish Apple would do. It's unfortunate that the end-user still needs to know and understand the difference between SMS (green) and iMessages (blue). The latter is synced across all of your iOS devices, but SMS messages are not. They are received by your…
I'd be very cautious using GCP for any mission critical purposes. I was working on a web app that needed to print from the app, so we used GCP for that, and it seemed to work in testing, but in production with a relatively high volume of jobs it just completed failed. It'd randomly drop jobs without returning any…
Mine actually died as well, same story as yours, except I had a fantastic experience with their support. They promptly replaced it. It was all hassle free and really quick. I never like seeing a device that dies like that, though, because if it's a design flaw, it'll probably happen again out of warranty and I'll…
Just pick up a Jawbone UP. It's awesome, it works well, and it syncs by plugging in to your mobile device, so there's no wireless radios. This also has a very positive impact on battery life (and maybe your own - that's TBD).
Thank you. I was about to post this exact same thing.
Sometimes free software is really good, sometimes paid software really sucks.

I randomly decided to move to NYC and am doing that on Friday. Perhaps I should have tried something like changing my workout routine or so, but oh well! Too late now!
By that same logic, isn't it entirely possible that the people you're listening to have a vested interest in the supplement industry? It's a huge industry, with its own set of lobbyists, tons of money, lots of profit to be had, and I'm sure the usual corruption that follows those things.
I'm far from my ideal weight, but I have lost a bunch, and can tell you with 100% certainty that diet is key. I know from experience that it's easier to just work out. As tough as working out is, it's certainly easier than changing our diets. I spent a lot of time wondering how some people were so thin, and why. …
Why don't you just use your iPhone?
(Intentionally not continuing the discussion because I don't like talking to people who make assumptions and then claim I'm "dumb" if those assumptions were correct.)
Really? How about basically every modern smartphone gesture?
Yep! If it weren't for Android, in particular, I think iOS would be innovating much slower. I agree with you on the mentality, too. I'd agree with Apple if they didn't do the exact same thing.
