I honestly don’t understand the appeal of kettle chips.  Did someone say “hey, these potato chips are just too light and crispy...we need something much harder to chomp on with the consistency of a stale chip”?  Because that is what they are like.

rewarding? I can’t just buy a coffee and get the drink I paid for? The service person must be rewarded as well? Isn’t that the job they are doing? I have the same issue when I pick up a take out order. Giving me the food I bought is their basic job. There isn’t much value add service to “reward” on top of that.

I tend to tip pretty well.  Having said that, I struggle with the idea that I need to tip a barista for pouring my tall black coffee.  Handing me something doesn’t really seem to merit a tip does it?  If I was ordering one of those nightmare drinks that take 15 steps to make that is obviously a different thing.
