My bad. I was drunk when I watched the commentary track.

This is not pop-punk, nor is it punk rock. I'm not a pop-punk or punk-rock purist by any means.

Actually the concept of "punk"/punk can be a very useful frame of reference.

The first two seasons were/are on Amazon Prime.

PTA's films are particularly about fathers and sons.
Inherent Vice was his first film not to pivot on daddy issues.

His original cut for Boogie Nights didn't make it to theaters. I remember reading it included additional scenes, including one in which Eddie's folks are killed in a car crash. I believe it was close to four hours long and PTA originally wanted an intermission built in.

I just got sad all over again.

I've actually been waiting/hoping for a DVD release, not just for quality but the always enjoyable Community extras. I guess the prospect of disc sales isn't lucrative enough to be Yahoo's ace in the hole.

Well aside from the originals I'm fucking underwhelmed.

What would have helped is if Yahoo Screen didn't have the poorest streaming quality fucking EVER. I've tried to start Season 6 three or four times, but as the video has gotten gratingly, unbearably choppy after the cold open every time, I haven't seen the end of the first act.

Yes.

No, no, no. Excedrin for a hangover.
Excedrin, black coffee, weed and canned pears.

I've been revisiting my ska-punk days recently. I was very much into that subgenre back then and though I'm enjoying getting reacquainted with some of it, most of it doesn't hold up. Only a couple bands don't sound completely ridiculous to me (Slapstick, Less Than Jake, a few local Chicago bands.)

If one thing's for sure, Minnesotans know how to shoot guns well, generally speaking.

I like it.

I'm beyond psyched for this. I absolutely loved the first season, more so than True Detective's. It was just more to my taste, and closer to flawless in my opinion.

Oh yea pal? Howsabout a dick pic for ya! Nothin heavy there!

I'm 80 pages into The Dying Grass by William Vollmann! So, hardly anywhere at all. The book caught me around page 50 though and has been smooth sailing since then…

Hell's Angels and White Noise are great. Let us know how Lerner turns out in the end.

In keeping with the White Male Narcissist tradition. The sex. I mean, I like Roth and Mailer and Bellow, but Updike can suck it, and Franzen reads very Updikey.
