From an engineering prospective.. ALL transmissions ruin vehicles. The torque efficiency loss through a transmission is crazy.

A co-worker of mine bought a new Mach-e sight unseen and had no clue how to charge it at home. Really didn’t know anything about it. She asked me cause I’ve had a model 3 for years. Some people are just not too bright and throw money at new shiny things, then realize they jumped the gun and sell the cars. Not really

Y’all are a little too worried about this, IMO.

If it could actually go 466 miles, it will rarely need charged on the road for the majority of drivers/use cases. You charge at home 98% of the time.

If there is demand created for charging, companies will pop-up and charge to support it. Day 1 there may not be support

$100 says you’ll see more Russian ads for Republicans than anything.

Did this dude willingly tell his story to news outlets? I would not be going public with this type of situation..... or does he actually think he’s the victim here?

i feel bad laughing about this but honestly its pretty funny

These are not cheap cars.

“Did God see the USA coming years ago and put all the good resources in the area for when the USA emerges? Does he do the opposite with countries he doesn’t like?”

That’s exactly the US conservative mindset… the Manifest Destiny is alive and well within the Republican Party…

-Eff everyone else’s kids.”

I’ve had my Model 3 for 3.6 years and it is by far the best vehicle I’ve had. No gremlins in mine. Charge at home a few nights a week. Granted I only drive 30 miles a day unless traveling but that is about average for most Americans.

Between the rusty sledgehammer crushing the oreos, rusty shovel scooping the sugar, and using an old oily doorknob as the agitator, no way in hell I’m eating what he made.

I would think if you have the main components and utilities setup already that the port/cable would be a relatively easy update. I mean what happens if the normal port gets damaged and needs replaced? I assume a smarter/more well versed commenter will be by soon.

Yeah, but then you would have to live in Wyoming. Wouldn’t it be better to live somewhere with schools, culture, sports, museums, jobs, etc.?

Windshields aren’t the only place that Elon can’t get rid of grimes.

Your mechanic has *never* seen a Tesla, lets be honest here.

The EPA rates the base RZ at 220 miles, but if you get a model with 20-inch wheels, that drops to just 196 miles. While that frankly laughable range isn’t the entire story, it will be a fact many buyers in the U.S. struggle to get past.

“It’s telling that the chemistry isn’t anywhere near what they claimed 3 years ago since they can’t even expand production to fit all of their other cars....”

Tell that to Audi. They seem to only make black cars for some reason.

An EV with ~300 miles of range stuck in traffic now has ~500 miles of range because the EPA rating was assuming 65mph @ ~4mi/kw, and when you’re crawling under 45mph you’re getting like 7mi/kw.

The irony is that the EV being used to evac likely has more charge (if you’re evac’ing from home), than an ICE vehicle has fuel. My cars are constantly hovering around 1/4 tank. EVs are generally plugged in at home. They’ll be just fine.
