Apparently I’m more susceptible to nostalgia than I thought because seeing Picard say “Engage” as the TNG theme swelled in the background gave me goosebumps.
Picard was never a social butterfly, but he always had a strong sense of duty, and the idea that he’d abandon a coworker is hard to accept even if he was in shock from leaving his job.
Jeeeezus, but you are hard on this show. One wonders if TNG would have even survived its early, pre-Riker’s beard seasons in the modern era.

The kneel thing is puzzling, but after getting the news from the senate (it no longer deserves capitalization) that no witnesses will be called, I find the ability to stand without having a spine even more amazing.
How much did PETA pay for that ad? Did they get a charity discount? Did they realize they supported the NFL? Do they think people are going to stop eating chicken wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, riblets, babyback ribs, more chicken, pork chops, sausage, watch that commercial and say, oh hell yes. I’m a monster.

How about the fact it’s the philosophical morality lesson humanity desperately needs these days, but made funny and relatable with one of the most talented casts and joke writers in the medium today and nearly every other episode, the show completely upends where we thought it would go? Or how much fun rewatching it…
I mean it’s been over 500 years since the last human got to the Good Place and the Good Place people don’t seem to be able to make a simplest decision (either takes them forever or they just let others to push them over).
