Good. It’s a crime that this guy isn’t already Superman 5 times over by now.

“The problem with the new Lion King is that the animals just aren’t expressive enough”
“Can you feel the love tonight” but in the day. It’s decisions like that....
Jhonen Vasquez on Twitter pointed out that it looks like a lion ate a Lion King fan, and now the fan is singing Lion King songs from inside the lion.
Merely “photorealistic cruddiness” in the headline gave off delightful Jay-Sherman-in-a-bad-mood vibes, and the rest of the article more than lived up to it. Superb pannery.
An actual conversation I had with a friend the summer BW came out.
I discovered Mad Magazine when I was 10 years old in 1972. Because my parents thought Mad was a bad influence and didn’t want me reading it, I’d have to sneak down to the grocery store to buy an issue each month for 35¢ (CHEAP).

If I had a dollar for every artist that said he, she or they claiming retirement I would have $917.
What’s that Elvis Costello quote (or maybe misquote)? Explaining music is like dancing about architecture?
I would reverse it. Brilliant, intermittently brilliant.

But the law is being applied rigidly without any concern for intent, context, or…
Thanks.
I might be slightly annoyed with season 3 because I feel like they were saying that the absurd standards for admission to the good place showed one of the big inherent problems with thoroughgoing consequentialism as a moral theory, and as something of a Kantian, Chidi should have been all over that, but he never…
I’m both a little sad but also glad. It’s such a great show and I’d hate for it to get ... less great. Better to go out on top.
Being from Winnipeg, I love this movie. I owe it a debt of gratitude, too: once, when I’d just begun some arduous task assigned me by my parents (cleaning up crabapples in the yard, I think), the door opened and my dad popped his head out to shout “Come on inside! Phantom of the Paradise is on!” Only in Winnipeg.
