In the same boat my friend except currently looking for a job. I too did the high paying restaurant gig for a long time, but the hours took away my will to live after awhile. The idea of a day off was non-existent and I'd have a mild panic attack every time I'd get a text or phone call. Now I live like a glorified

Saw it in the theater on opening night and would have to agree. Between the crazy long steadicam shots and Tom Sizemore at the apex of his sleaziness, you pretty much can't go wrong.

What is he, like 5'4"? I swear to god there were scenes in the new Mission Impossible flick where he looked shorter than Cruise. And yet, he almost always plays some sort of badass. It's probably why we keep having to go overseas to get our action heroes…

I didn't think that it sucked, but it wasn't all that original or compelling.

I agree. I used to be a big fan of prestige films/serious indie flicks, but as I've gotten older and have become increasingly cognizant of how shitty the world is, I just want to be entertained. That's probably why I tend to watch old comedies and/or crappy exploitation flicks…

Am I the only one that found The Hurt Locker to be vastly overrated? Don't get me wrong, I love Bigelow, but I found that movie to be just alright. I guess I long for the Bigelow of old, whose movies through Strange Days (yes, Strange Days) had a sense of anarchy and fun about them. For awhile, she was like the

I agree wholeheartedly my friend. It's easy to dismiss a song like 'White Rabbit' now as musical shorthand for lazy movies, tv shows, etc. to portray the Sixties, Man! But the fact remains that their early recorded output is absolutely golden. 'Today' is probably one of my favorite songs of all time.

I saw Happiness on opening night in a fairly packed theater and the collected reaction of the audience after that ending was a sight to behold. People just sat in their seats, mouths agape. Never before or since, have I been so thrilled to be living in the south. I don't think the audience was quite prepared for

Completely agree about Asleep and Please Let Me Get What I Want. I would add That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore to the list of sad bastard Smiths songs. My teenage self definitely had a sad bastard moment with that song. Long story short, I went to a concert with a an older girl (who I had a major crush on) and on the

Let me qualify my statement. I used to think Miller was funny, until he became a shill for the Republican Party. This happened sometime after 9/11. Prior to that, he was known more for his witty/acerbic comments about people and society in general.

Glover is actually on a recent episode of WTF and goes into detail about his movies and "readings." It's definitely one of the weirder episodes I've listened to (go figure). At one point, Glover gives Maron one of his books and Maron in turn fetishizes the binding!?! I guess the contents weren't that interesting.

and the band played on…

I think it's weird that no one mentioned that Timoner is the director of the infinitely watchable Dig! The hubris contained in that documentary is comparable to that in the Kings of Leon doc Talihina Sky (although some of the music in Dig! is actually listenable).

Not sure if that was his impetus for converting to the Tea Party, but yes, he's a full on conservative now. Kind of takes the shine off a little bit. It's like the time I thought Dennis Miller was funny…

Meaning… my comment or the video? Context, my friend. Context.

The Dorm Daze episode from last season is pretty much their high water mark, so I'll agree with you in that regard. I think that this show suffers from the same problem that plagues It's Always Sunny in that more often than not, the characters hanging out, shooting the shit, is much more amusing than the ensuing plot

I feel like this show has kind of run its course, but I'm still amused by the off the cuff or throwaway lines that aren't integral to the plot. The hang out aspect of the show is pretty much the thing that makes me continue to watch it.

I'm still disturbed by that song she did with the Flaming Lips where she goes around the video dressed as a baby. Ye gods, that was some disturbing shit to witness.

Can we put a moratorium on the phrase "fear and loathing?"

Just finished watching this about five minutes ago and wasn't that impressed with it. The three leads were pretty dire and Katie Rife's comment about Lyla's "hysterical outbursts" being "a sticking point for some viewers" is quite possibly the understatement of the year. When SPOILERS…
