Yeah, Max Payne 3 was a hard turn in the opposite direction.  2 was so good and I never understood why they changed the setting so drastically for 3.  It lost all the noir character that made the series what it was.  It was still a good game, but they killed the franchise with 3.

I just loved how Mad Pirot comes out of nowhere and it legitimately the most intense episode of the series. Very little comedy and despite all the near death experiences he’s had, you can tell that Pirot shook Spike to his core.
