Without spoiling things, Amy Adams is acting *one* way during the movie, but then you find out a sort of twist and realize that things were *another* way, and yet the performance still holds up. She was basically doing 2 performances at once. I was impressed!

The River is really the main character of this film.

Streep could not make a movie and still get nominated for her work from her ATM's security camera footage.
