He wasn't really convincing as the legitimate businessman. But then you figure out that was kind of the point, the performance makes a little more sense.

I think that Nels joined Wilco after A Ghost Is Born. I could be wrong, but I think that Jeff Tweedy did most of the shredding, awesomely grating, solos on that Album. Cline didn't appear on a Wilco album until Kicking Television.
I absolutely love "Impossible Germany" by Wilco. It's not a hard rock solo, but what they do with the ryhthym of the song and the gaps between the notes, I always sends a chill down my spine listening to that Nels Cline solo.
