The R9 280X is just a re-brand of the 7970. It is the SAME card will a little change in clock speed and memory. Performance is almost identical.

Do you have a source? AMD Radeon cards technically all have Physx support but it cannot be enabled without some workarounds.
Verdict changed to maybe. If they had any Nvidia internals it would probably happen but they went AMD. ( PhysX is Nvidia tech)
