I'm in the same place. Desktop no, but i think a tablet would be pretty awesome; it might even rival the ipad. The cost will probably be more though.

Right but once you have a gaming pc there are a lot more possibilities. Spend a couple hundred more dollars and you can have not only a gaming machine, but a photo/video editor, home theater, DVR, ect. Consoles are getting closer to this but they aren't quite there. Consoles mostly are for games obviously.
