But somehow, like most Russian aircraft, the ugliness is somehow charming.
But somehow, like most Russian aircraft, the ugliness is somehow charming.
This happened at my undergrad university once. Apparently there was a mailing list for all 35,000 students. IT quickly fixed it so only approved sources could use it (a week later).
Even the big and ugly can get moving quickly when you have 20,000 HP at your disposal.
It’s a shame, there are excellent conservative news outlets in the United States (the Wall Street Journal comes to mind), but Fox is an easy strawman I guess. The wasps cake. And I am quite left-leaning.
How much trouble could 250 km cause?

QI is a TV show where one of the jokes is that the scoring is indecipherable nonsense.
Found the QI scorekeeper.
Keep in mind, high performance aircraft like the SR-71 (and most fighter aircraft for that matter) never truly leave the prototyping and development phase. By their competitive-or-die nature, they’re in a constant race to upgrade both hardware and tactics, and the flight envelope is a moving target. Failures are…
I had considered adding an extra paragraph explaining that in practice the turboprop core is capable of producing 5-10% of the total engine thrust, but I neglected it because I thought it’d be confusing.
In a ‘vanilla’ jet engine, a turbojet (which are almost never seen today, but are easy to understand), air is compressed, mixed with fuel and combusted, then sent through a turbine. The energy extracted by the turbine is used to power the compressor at the beginning of the cycle, but the turbine doesn’t extract all…
People have this image in their heads that ‘classified’ means ‘advanced’, when usually (with technical stuff like this) it’s the minutiae that take something from an idea to a workable product. I mean, nothing’s that arcane about a modern Ford Focus, but it’s not like you can copy it (properly) without their help…
You say that sarcastically, but most star wars posters are awesome looking.
Reminds me of the old Trudeau quip: “I’ve been called worse things by better people.”
He’s being sarcastic. If a German humor program represents all of Germany, any action by any American represents all of America.
It’s only Godwin’s law when you’re comparing your opponent to Hitler, to try to undermine them. This is almost the entire opposite: Hitler’s on his side, and that’s a good thing. Which is something else entirely. I’m not sure what, but something else.
I am instructed by Her Majesty’s government of Canada to warn you that if you do not respond immediately to my orders, I’m gonna have to put yer head in the snowbank, eh bud? Fuckin’ rights.
Obviously that would depend on the mission, since the Harrier was designed as an attack aircraft. The F-35 is supposed to assume that role also, but not exclusively. Although the Royal Navy have employed the original Harrier in air-to-air operations during the Falklands War, it was never intended for this role. This…
Indeed. When people see how well air forces like Israel’s can leverage their CFTs, or other users in NATO or MNNAs, they neglect to recognize that quantitative differences can lead to qualitative ones. Even other great powers, like the UK and France, may only have a dozen refueling aircraft (and that’s when all their…
As is their wont, the USAF has a wasteful, but effective rationale: if they’re short on weapons stations, they can afford to just field more aircraft instead of using aircraft more efficiently; if they’re short on range they can leverage their unrivaled aerial refueling capability.
“I mean, death to the west and all, but that was sick.”
