@Jeremy: Some 256kb and some 320kb AAC (m4a) for my 16GB iPhone and 120GB ipod (much better quality than the same bitrate mp3) and FLAC on my NAS for Sonos. I've been thinking about reripping my 256's to 320's, but I don't think the playback from an iPod/iPhone is good enough that I'd hear the difference.

@Jingles8302: Never had a problem with mine (also 64 bit Win7). When I connect the 3GS, I get the pop-up with all the choices. I choose "Open folder to view files" (I think that's what it says) and then I can open the camera folder to see the pics. It does this outside of iTunes.

@Michael Coogan: I got my 3GS last July. It was an upgrade from the 3G I bought the year before. I did not get the cheap upgrade price then. I got the $299 upgrade price when I pre-ordered a 32GB iPhone 4 from Apple yesterday, so I know the upgrade terms have changed this time around.

I tried to place an online order yesterday for several hours, starting at about 10am Central Time, then gave up (both Apple's and AT&T's sites). I tried Apple again at about 8pm. Though it was slow, I was able to order a 32GB phone, a bumper and AppleCare. The order showed my phone shipping for delivery on the

@my name is jonas: If you want, and are eligible for, the discounted price, you have to sign a new contract.

@norfizzle: That's why so many junior years never happened....

It's working in Dallas.

It looks like the case allows for the dock connector. I wonder if it will fit in a dock? I have a dock for my 3GS along with a Proclip cradle in my car. A naked iPhone 4 would probably be too narrow and thin to fit and be stable, but the bumper may make it close to the dimensions of a 3GS. If it works, it would

@tyler.derden: I'm not in love with Microsoft, but please note that this appears to be WinXP only. I admire that they're still supporting it at all. There are many software and hardware companies who have said FU to customers of their legacy products in much less than the nine years XP has been around.

@iLostMyNameTag: He has held several world records....but he did not dive to the bottom of the sinkhole. It was edited to appear that way for "artistic" reasons. His girlfriend/photographer said so...(and Giz mentions that it's not real in the post).

@Bramsey89: None of what he did was fake. The impression that he dove to the bottom of the sink hole is what's fake. This guy is a competitive freediver, good enough to have held world records several times.

Damn...pretty impressive. I wonder how deep he actually went. You can see colors fade out as the light diminishes and slowly return as he climbs back up.

Before people accuse me of being an Apple fanboy — I am definitely not. I've done more than my share of Apple bashing, when it's deserved. However, all the Apple bashing by Gizmodo is like my kids sitting in the back seat of the car:

@acidrain69: After the sheep....I mean people....get hooked on Safari Reader, Apple will probably insert iAds. They'll be able to strip out everyone else's ads and insert their own.

@Illist: (Girlfriend with blank stare) — "This is the dress I was looking for..."

@quayzar: In all seriousness, this is only going to be confusing to consumers. People understand the term 'hybrid.' Who cares if they don't understand "Hybrid Synergy Drive." If Toyota wants to sell a "Highlander with Prius Drive," I think they're in for a rude awakening. Instead of emphasizing the technology, it
