I agree. And yet, I read a number of stories about how those folks overwhelmingly felt the government failed them and didn’t do enough to help them. Aren’t these the same folks who say government isn’t the solution to our problems?
Are people ever going to stop falling for the “I’ll bring your jobs back from [current cheap-labor market].” And the prez will turn around and say he was unable to bring the jobs back because the system is rigged.
Doesn’t pretty much everyone beat the Hurricanes? I think Leesville Road High School could probably beat them. I’m sure they could put a team together faily quickly. UGH.
You are correct. And add congress to that list for anything they don’t rubber stamp. His not taking responsibility for anything, his simply making up his own facts, and his inciting hatred and division has INFURITATED me this election.
Just wait till all those people who feel “left behind” realize their jobs aren’t coming back. Who will they blame then? I guess the Prez will have a long list for them to ruminate on.
The republicans worked hard this year at limiting early voting, and if I remember correctly tried to have voting places removed from colleges and universities. At NC State, early voting started one week later, and there was only one spot on campus, but they’re kind of shooting themselves in the foot since State isn’t…
And big clocks. Lots and lots of big clocks.
.... and giant wings on the back. Why do they put a rear wing on a front wheel drive car. (asking for a friend)
Hmm, I don’t think I have parsed out the degrees of “relief” in quite such descriptive ways before but well put. Like how Eskimos have a gazillion different words for snow. I grew up in CNY and had three words for snow. Wet, fluffy and icy.
I pretty much feel the same way, although I think the relief will be short lived. Republican and the Crazy-Right are going to come after her in a vengeance even worse than what Obama faced. I think it’s going to be ugly.
Care to pass along any recommendations for other fun drives on less traveled roads in that area? Thanks.
As those things you mention add up *fast!* I grew up in a modest, somewhat frugal family, so that’s the way I am wired. Now that I am a one income household, I am especially careful, but have managed a very healthy emergency fund and I am on track to have the mortgage paid off in 7 years, which is 4 years early.…
Wow, now there’s a family that is burning through some cash. Damn. I know a family that used to spend *everything* they made. Three kids and not a single college savings account. The father’s rationale: No one saved any money for me and I found a way to pay for college. Why should I save?” I think someone finally told…
Probably Mennonite
My ex-wife used to do this. She said in the back of her mind when a car started to pass on the interstate she would think “Oh my gosh, poeple think I’m not going fast enough.” It wasn’t an intentional effort to screw with people.
I was always a bit ambivelant about kids, but expected I’d have them. Now I am a dad of two teens and they are awesome. Oddly, now, I really don’t like kids -- Other peoples’ kids -- ill-behaving little monsters.
I have really enjoyed watching my mortgage consume a smaller and smaller percentage of my take-home pay as my career has advanced. Meanwhile neighbors and friends have traded in for bigger houses and nicer cars. You certainly can’t get ahead when you live like that.
From the A pillar back, that car to me looks a bit like an old Ferrari. And the windows a bit like a Marenello.
I visited Argentina in 1991 and was surprised to see Ford Falcons driving around. Not sure if that’s what they were called. They didn’t look like ones way back when, but rather just how you would think they would have evolved style-wise. I thought that was pretty cool.
