I love these videos. Watched this one last night and was audibly gobsmacked (had to apologize for waking my wife)... but in general ALL of the Hagerty videos that Cammisa is doing are pretty top-notch. The production on the drag races is pretty fantastic and they’re all worth checking out.

But can the Sapphire set $44 billion on fire as fast as the Plaid?

This has been my favorite fallout of all of this - for years, I’ve argued with Elon stans that he’s not *doing* anything. He’s hired some brilliant people to run these plays. Engineers are the ones who have lofted his companies into the stratosphere (literally and figuratively). Welcome schadenfreude.

In six months Teslas have gone from status symbols to the automotive equivalent of MAGA hats. It’s astonishing; I’ve never seen any brand lose so much goodwill for such a stupid reason before.

Neutral: I would gladly do more biking if there was a) better climate in the Midwest, and b) were more bike lanes available. Sharing the road with cars is both unsafe and, frankly, annoying to drivers.

Fuck Musky. He’s a south african wannabe supervillain, bent on poisoning american politics with his batshit crazy BS (which “coincidentally” makes him tons of money.)  The sooner he fades into history, the better.

That is not even close to being accurate.  He made the offer, waived due diligence, sale closed.  Tough shit.

The problem is that Telsa isn’t a car company. It’s a tech company that happens to make cars.

I spent over 20 years working in tech. It is without a doubt the most volatile, unpredictable, insecure industry imaginable. I lost count of the number of companies I worked for. Mostly due to acquisitions, the company folding when funding dried up, recessions- which always hits tech hard- and many other reasons.

So put a drive-thru at the end of Subaru’s assembly line, dummy!

Living wages would be lower if rents were lower. (Economic rent, which includes rent rent)

They didn’t “plug in” but charged at a generator all night? I guess TECHNICALLY they didn't plug into electricity, but that's like saying something akin to "gas car drives 1600 miles not stopping at a single gas station" while they just filled up from 5 gallon jugs the whole time.

And it can be a pain when it’s jammed with traffic.

And if you buy a black or white Ford explorer and you’re tailing me at night, just to let you know I will not drive 1mph above the speed limit until I have ascertained you are not a cop...and then still maintain speed just because screw you and your life choices.

Monthly payments? Wait till you see the monthly bill from my kids’ daycare... I probably could buy an Emira plus a GT-R with that...

I lived through the Reagan “just say no” crack era which had far higher crime rates than today. Ronnie was Teflon and never got blamed for it nor the high crime rates when he was the governor of California.

I’m confused. I think he is saying that all people under criminal investigations should be jailed until their trial is complete? So, he thinks Trump should be in jail along with his cronies? If so, I agree that the Democrats aren’t as tough on crime as they should be.

I’m guessing he’s pretty quiet about gun violence.

“My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones of those who were killed.”

Yeah, I agree with this take. Everyone on the internet is firmly entrenched in the “She was 100% evil” or “She was 100% good” camps and it’s already old. I feel completely neutral about her, in all honesty. She wasn’t good, she wasn’t bad, she just kind of was.
