Yes, the Wheaton Metro has the longest 3 escalators in the Western Hemisphere. And it is the second longest in the world (the longest is in the St. Petersburg, Russia Metro). (Yes, longer than Dupont Circle). It takes about 2:30 minutes to go up if you’re standing. I take it every weekday. I walk down in the morning

I remember when my wife left for a week to teach a workshop. My daughters were about 5 and 3. I made a mistake with the laundry, mixing colored and whites with a bad result. My eldest daughter told on me.

His situation will slowly change (if you stay with him for a few more decades). ;-)

My order at Starbucks: a tall Cold Brew in a trente cup. No ice; no water. Then, I fill it with milk.

I will follow one piece of advice given in this article and tell the rest of you (especially those who have commented and are in their 30s): it does get better. I’m in my 60s and in this decade, I finally feel good in my skin. I know what I’m good at and I know what I’m lousy at. And, I’m not afraid to admit those

If you’re keeping a list (paper or electronic), you’re an accident waiting to happen. Get yourself a password manager.

Here’s my photo of the coast, taken on the San Diego to LA Surfliner train:

Don’t forget “East of the River’s” art scene. And the murals. Here’s one I took last year:

Don’t eat at the restaurants at LACMA. They’re way too overpriced. Eat at the food trucks across the street. Also, don’t park at the lot across the street from the museum. A year ago, it was $7 to park. Last week, I paid $16.

I just got a parking ticket in Culver City. The sign was one of those combo signs that are so confusing. I read and reread the sign numerous times before I parked there. Obviously, I’m not fluent in “parkingsignese.”

And, if you’re a Senior, it’s only 35¢ to ride the bus!

Certain parts of downtown may be a dump, but there are other parts that are gems. Pershing Square, Central Market, the theaters of Broadway, Angel’s Flight, and the Bradbury Building are just a few.

The thought it was Picasso who said, “Good artists copy; great artists steal.”

I wear hats all the time. Today, in the heat of DC, it’s a straw pork pie. Mostly, I wear baseball caps. But, as I’ve gotten older, I have one of those 50 SPF sun hats as well. No hair up there and I have to take care of my noggin. (That solves any hat hair problem. So glad I no longer have to worry about that.)

I may have to go for the X but I’m not waiting in line. I will wait a few weeks to let everyone else deal with it.

I’ll come visit you some day with my time machine. ;-)

I always wait. A week or two. I’ll let you other people beta the final version. ;-)

Not true. Just one is all it takes. I know. I’ve done it.

All it takes is one person (stupid or smart) to steal your identity and you’re in for years of “fun.” It doesn’t matter what your credit score it. Don’t take this for granted.
