I actually put on Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass while I read your comment. It added a delightful humorous effect!

Not really my point. I am not a Sixers fan. I just find Deadspin’s staunch opposition to “the process” to be eye-roll inducing. As if there is something dignified in going 42-40 and getting smoked by LeBron in the first round every year.

Can’t wait to see the Deadspin staff arguing (IN ALL CAPS) how dumb it is for the Sixers to have all these young fun players with tons of potential.

The Patriots outgained the Falcons by 200 yards, had 40 fewer penalty yards, 40 minutes of possession to the Falcons 23, and 20 more first downs. I think statistical dominance for most of the game is a tad strong.

They had the ball on the Ravens 7 yard line on 1-and-goal down 3 with 1:45 to go. Did the Falcons dominate the Patriots in Super Bowl LI?

For those curious and new to comics, I recommend Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men (the Masterworks are about $3 each), Straczynski’s Amazing Spiderman and Thor from the 2000s, King’s Vision from 2015, and Gillen’s Darth Vader.

Burneko will haughtily dismiss anyone, including himself. It’s the one area where he’s achieved logical consistency. Otherwise, he’s pretty much butt.

Seems strange to use Bradley Beal as evidence of short shooting guards flaming out early when he’s 23. I think we can at least give him until he’s 24 before we write the definitive account of his career, can’t we?

He’s now at least a tier below two of his former sidekick/bodyguards.

“Home has newer septic.”

There’s a shot clock, it’s not like a team can pass the ball around endlessly waiting for a perfect shot. When Westbrook takes a contested jumper with six seconds on the shot clock, the likelihood of him finding Steven Adams or Enes Kanter (both have a higher TS% than Russ) for an easier dunk or layup is very low.

Those metrics you use overvalue big men, especially defensive-minded big men. True shooting favors scorers who can finish plays efficiently (like DeAndre Jordan and Rudy Gobert or shooters like Kyle Korver) over players who can create offense out of nothing. While players like Carmelo and Russ may overdo it sometimes,

Good to see he might have figured out his swing. With his defense and baserunning, he doesn’t need to hit much better than this. He’s had two 5+ WAR seasons where he neither hit 15 home runs, nor batted above .300.

The game was played in Lyon.

At this stage in his development, I’m not sure they’re much worse without Jabari. They’re certainly better with a healthy Middleton and an injury Jabari than a healthy Jabari and an injured Middleton. They’re 13-6 when Middleton plays this season. Coincidentally, Jabari was injured the game Middleton returned.

I’m not sure where you got my essay from my freshman year Philosophy and the Just Society midterm, but fyi, I got a C.

Nothing that guy can do will change the fact that 99.9% of people, when they read or hear his name, will think “Ha! That’s the dumbass pitcher with the drone.” That gives me comfort.

Bautista doesn’t have much of an arm anymore - one of the lowest throwing velocities in the league last season.

Good tennis analysis makes me miss David Foster Wallace.

That’s the joke.
