Fine, whatever, you’re a piece of shit racist for trotting out your Latinx friends as a trump card instead of coming up with your own arguments.

I didn’t say you were racist.

I’m sure your Latinx friends enjoy being trotted out as the proof of your winning argument. As all of my minority friends can attest, there is nothing minorities love more than being used by white people as the definitive representations of all people of their ethnicity.

No, one single bad start isn’t costing him money. This is a stupid fucking argument. Stop it.

I’ll bet he roots for Goldman Sachs in finance.

According to Billboard, the band refused to play most of its hits—except for “Jumper,”

Would he have stayed in the game if that ball was a car?

Why wouldn’t he spend more than a year in jail?

Good talk.

How intense was the editorial meeting before you agreed you would run a post saying “We believe the NFL is being totally above board here.”

You win.

She’s a grown woman. If I receive a backlash for saying something I honestly didn’t think was offensive, I will educate myself on why people found it offensive. She can do the same. It is not the job of greyed out commenters on Jezebel to explain shit to her. It is obvious by her apology she didn’t learn a damn thing.

Uhh...what extra “thought” are they supposed to give?

Yeah. Let’s not tell idiotic homeowners not to indulge their stupid vigilante fantasies and run around confronting everyone with guns.

No. Whether they were trespassing is immaterial, you don’t get to murder people for trespassing. And you don’t just get to create a confrontation with a gun and then claim self-defense for everything that happens after your foolish actions.

He’s an idiot. If he thought that there was something suspicious, he should have called the police. You don’t go out and confront them with a handgun and tell them not to move. That’s a completely unnecessary escalation of conflict, and anyone who does something like that should be in jail and should never own a gun.

Haha, yeah. Shawshank was on TV about a week ago, so it was fresh on my mind, not so much for “this is a kid’s movie that teaches this lesson” but more “this is an example of a movie that presents this universal theme.”

Because the balk rule doesn’t have a mens rea element. What matters is whether a move could cause the runner to be deceived, not whether that was the pitcher’s intent.

I think you’re nuts if you seriously think the hate would have been less based on how they framed the new movie.

Okay, but that’s not a particularly unique theme. There are tons of stories about ordinary people overcoming the ills of the world (Shawshank Redemption comes immediately to mind). And Ghostbusters doesn’t make that point in a particularly thoughtful or nuanced manner - like most silly comedies, any real life
