Yes, you’re trying to equate someone being a guest of a guest at a party, insulting “half the room,” and then threatening violence and attempting to act on that threat. On the other, someone spit, which is, no doubt, demeaning, but also not nearly as ridiculous as the behavior on the other side.

But he didn’t actually spit ON her, it didn’t make contact. Which could just as easily have been him spitting on the ground in front of her, certainly a rude and insulting gesture, but nowhere as offensive as threatening to cut someone’s face open with a glass and then picking up a glass.

Yeah, but for nothing else besides the fact, which you admit, that it is a black man defending a white man, who, you know, he is friends with. You’re apparently uncomfortable because of the race of the people involved, which is quite understandable, but then you have to be able to set that aside and look at the

The difference between Azealia Banks and those other women is that Banks has called people “sand niggers” and other crazy racist shit. Homegirl even sells whitening cream on her Depop store. Its hard to find sympathy for her.

Sometimes I feel like people downplay women’s violent behavior. What’s with all the focus on Crowe spitting at her when she threatened to slash someone’s throat? Is an insulting and demeaning act somehow worse than an aggressive threat on someone’s life?

I understand that, but is sounds to me like she demeaned herself. And if you look at the TMZ video Kara linked, RZA’s admission that Crowe spat at her, not on her, sounds like he’s not condoning it. Maybe she has mental problems, I don’t know, maybe she’s just a belligerent asshole though.

“it’s doubtful she needed or asked for his protection or his prayers”

If Lohan is swinging around a broken bottle and threatening to mortally slash someone then, yeah, I have no problem with this scenario.

I suspect that Crowe had absolutely no idea who Banks was. If you’re not a voracious reader of gossip blogs or music blogs, you’re not going to. He presumably had no idea about Banks’ history of very public meltdowns.

If RZA defending Crowe puts a bad taste in your mouth, assuming that what RZA is saying is true, then I think your priorities are out of whack.

Unless she was fighting for her life, I’m confused as to why you seem to ignore that this woman attacked another guest with a glass to cut her face. Is the well being of the other woman not of your concern and what might be more damaging to the human body - saliva or glass trying to cut a face?

The visual of anybody breaking a glass and attacking someone with the stated intention of cutting up their face, messes with my mind, personally.

More insulting that trying to cut their face open??

It is in California, too, but here it sounds like he only spit in her direction, maybe not intending to hit her but to express his disgust with her. If it was directed at her instead, with the intention to hit her, it could also be assault. Video evidence would probably be needed to make a case though.

It’s funny how you lead with RZA being paternalistic and somehow fail to mention this from his statement (emphasis mine):

He spat “at” her, but missed. And this was after Azalea threatened to assault this girl, got the glass, tried to assault her but was blocked by Russell, got expelled from the room, and then tried to enter it again.

It didn’t make contact with her, thus not assault. Still gross though.

“Azealia threaten to cut a girl in the face with a glass, then actually grabs a glass and physically attacks for no logical reason.”

Spitting on someone is rude as hell, but it’s not quite as rude as threatening to cut someone’s throat with a broken champagne glass and then grabbing a champagne glass.

How is this patronizing?
