At first the grammar NAZI in me got was outraged at that. But your argument and the examples you cited made me totally change my mind.
I’m not sure I understand your argument here. Yes the Harry Potter books aren’t anywhere near the same caliber of Twain nor Stowe, but taking an issue a society is facing and transporting it to a new setting with different players is allegory and a hallmark of good science fiction and fantasy.
But what I really want to know is if the Bat’leth detaches so if you are jumped by a band of dishonorable Romulans (or the TSA) you can defend yourself!

I understand what you’re getting at: That Zemo was given little character development so his motives and background as the big-bad were underplayed and under-developed. So yes in that respect, he didn’t seem as menacing or threatening as a good villain should. But saying his was just a some random mook who shouldn’t…
