Are you seriously an adult with a job?
RIGHT?! I was just going to post, “is this man aging in reverse?”
Dude...you did NOT just vault BSG over LOST based solely upon your perception of plot holes, did you? Here’s a list, so please gimme your answers to these questions if you found BSG so much more conclusive:
Wow, if you’d only managed to squeeze in a complaint about the new Ghostbusters into this comment, you’d have hit the hat trick.
You know, that sequence was a lot more thrilling than it should’ve been. Popcorn movies aren’t all bad.
It’s purely pathetic, the number of ways in which this sentence attempts to sound condescending.
DARN YOU TO INFINITY NOW IT’S IN MY HEAD
I like her, but boy did I dislike both Boogie Nights and Magnolia (the latter still holding its spot as the 2nd worst movie I’ve ever seen), so I’m hoping she enjoys her enhanced fame, but I won’t be seeing whatever PTA movie she inevitably shows up in.
She’s a recognizable name in my world, whereas you’re on Kinja with no profile pic and a very, very dumb username, so... :)
I really disagree with you. He’s impetuous and brash, and he does not seem to consider things that far in advance, nor is he ever shown to have any great motives, overall. He’s all vengeance and fury, and he has never been shown to be very good at planning, nor being self aware enough to sell that level of deception…
I don’t think that door is large enough for a normal sized person to walk through, open or closed. Maybe Yoda :)
If she read his mind in TFA, what would stop her from picking up on a lie from him in this TLJ? After she’s had more training with the Force? That doesn’t hold up.
No...not really. Is bravery genetic? Lots of cops come from families full of cops, but did they inherit the gift for policing? Or is it partially their environment that shapes their future? You don’t have to understand the Force to appreciate it, and I like that it is mysterious.
Rey read Ren’s mind in the first movie, upon their very first meeting. She’d know if he was lying this time, too.
Does she fear that? She’s thought she was a nobody her whole life, which is confirmed by the look on her face, when Kylo talks of her parents. Also, when does she ever show fear at all? Find me the scene where she’s afraid of anything, and fails to overcome it... She’s capable and logical in every which way, and also?…
Ok, NONE of this would make for a logical, comprehensible plot, imaginative though it is. I once entertained the theory that Rey was Anakin’s half sister, and while that’s fun to postulate, it would be a NIGHTMARE to film, and keep the run time reasonable. There’s too much to explain in even my simple fan theory, but…
You’re expecting that everything in this movie deserves to be explained on screen; that’s what we all expect, but it’s not what what get, nor is it really what we want (if you really think about it). By instantly deflating all of the build-up between Episodes VII and VIII, the story goes someplace that few movies…
Broom Boy was my FAVORITE. Loved Broom Boy.
For all of the debate over this, there’s an obvious lack of psychoanalysis behind Kylo’s motives for telling the truth, or for lying. Why would he do either of those things? From what we’ve seen of him in these two movies, he’s not a subtle person. He’s not got a nuanced personality; he’s all nerves, and all harsh…
Lol; the fact that you think any one part of these movies is just lazily assembled, without scrutiny... ok, guy.
